How to Transform Social Media Followers into Meaningful Connections: Part One

The numbers don’t lie.

The proliferation of social media pathforms like Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and others has greatly changed the way people interact with each other.

As it stands, according to Craig Smith of Expanded Ramblings, there are 243 million active Twitter users and 1.23 Billion active users of Facebook. Let’s put this in perceptive. Currently population of India is close to the number of active Facebook uses. 

Now given the vast amount of people engaged in social media on a day to day level, how can companies, non-profits, and entreupeaurs transform social media followers into meaningful connections?

Anyone can ‘like’ a page or ‘follow’ posts. But out of the thousands and millions who out of them will make become engaged enough to interact on a more in-depth level. 

Part Two will examine the strategies that have successfully been used in order to capitalize on social media followers.
