What does Lowe’s and Walmart have in common?
Both claim to offer great service at great prices but they are failing in both regards.
In the case of Walmart I their customer service has always been lacking. Unmotivated staff and busy stores do not make a great combination.
However, with Lowe’s I was surprised at their terrible customer service. At Lowe’s the average purchase is in the thousands so you would expect a higher level of customer service.
Unfortunately that was not the case. In two circumstances with Lowe’s they failed to deliver my items on the correct day, failed to pick up the correct items, and failed to notify when they would arrive.
If you want a job done right I guess I have to do it myself.
In case anyone was wondering yes I am still boycotting Walmart. Each day I have a thought of going to get something. Then I remember respect and customer service go hand and hand with saving a few dollars.
It hasn’t been hard. Like quitting any addiction you need to take it one day at a time.
One week into my boycott of Walmart.
Things have never been better. I have been making better shopping choices and I spend less time in line.
Looking forward to the next week.
The Canadian Retail Market has gone through many ups and downs.
From the loss of Biway, Eatons, XS Cargo, Zellers, and Target it seems like nothing lasts anymore.
It seems that instead of learning from the mistakes of the before mentioned companies, Walmart is following their footsteps.
For the past couple of years I have seen the quality and service at Walmart decline as the number of their stores increases.
How long till it catches up with them?
Things happen for a reason wouldn’t you know.
Shopping around is always the best option but so often I am lazy and didn’t want to.
Too many times I just walked into Walmart just to save time thinking this is the best option.
Only to find they didn’t have the best price and service. Only to find I didn’t receive the respect I deserve.
Case in point yesterday when I went into Walmart only to have the staff ignore me and the price for my items higher than Canadian Tire.
I knew there was a reason I didn’t get those items despite waiting in line for 30 mins.
It was because somewhere else had a better price.
So I am now boycotting Walmart, as I can live without it. Just not worth spending 30 mins in line surrounded by screaming babies and people with 30 items in the express line.
So I am now boycotting Walmart and I hope more people will join me.
Walmart. Any day of the week will be filled with people looking for great deals.
Today was no different except I realized something.
I am worth more than a low price.
I am worth more than terrible customer service.
Will saving $5 dollars every shopping trip make up for spending 20 mins in line only for the cash register to break down?
Will saving $5 every shopping trip make up for the shrugs I get from Walmart associates when I ask a question?
I think I am worth more.
